Softball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends Argo's Winning Streak

Argo has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.71 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They lost 10-0 to the Shepard Astros. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Argonauts were not able to get on the board.

With the defeat, Argo broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-3. As for Shepard, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Argo and Shepard should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Argonauts will challenge Oak Lawn at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (111 vs. 284). Meanwhile, Shepard (ranked 42nd) will meet Blue Island Eisenhower (ranked 446th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
