Baseball Recap: Decatur Central Gets the Win

It was a Battle of the Birds when Decatur Central faced off against Perry Meridian on Saturday. The Hawks came out on top in a nail-biter against the Falcons, sneaking past 3-2. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 5-2 win on April 8th.

Colton Markus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jonathan Tepepa Juarez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Decatur Central: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise.
