Softball Recap: Three Straight Road Wins for Lincoln

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southwest SD, Lincoln was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Kearny Komets by a score of 26-22. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Komets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Lincoln got a massive performance out of Eliana Aguilar, who got on base in five of her eight plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave Aguilar a new career-high. Nyema Curtis was another key player, going 4-for-7 with five runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

Lincoln kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive games.

Lincoln pushed their record up to 15-12 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 22.3 runs over those games. As for Kearny, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kearny, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-9 win against High Tech SD on the 16th.
