Baseball Recap: Beloit Memorial Takes a Loss

Beloit Memorial extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 5-11. They came up short against the Burlington Demons, falling 10-1. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Demons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

As for Burlington, they pushed their record up to 10-9-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games.

For Burlington's part, Trey Kerkhoff was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Kerkhoff is becoming a predictor of the Demons' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-9-1 when he doesn't).

While Beloit Memorial had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
