Basketball Game Preview: Littleton Lions vs. Golden Demons

Littleton is 9-1 against Golden since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Littleton Lions will welcome the Golden Demons at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

It was a proper cat-fight when Littleton challenged Jefferson Academy on Saturday. Littleton lost to Jefferson Academy on the road by a 43-28 margin. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Littleton had strong showings from Samantha Hernandez Tobon, who posted ten points and eight rebounds, and Emma Bird, who scored four points in addition to nine boards and four steals. That's the most points Hernandez Tobon has posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Golden has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 28.59 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They lost 72-47 to Columbine. That makes it the first time this season the Demons have let down their home crowd.

Littleton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Golden, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-2.

Littleton strolled past Golden in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 67-53. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Golden's Allie Neal, who went 8 for 14 on her way to 20 points.
