Basketball Preview: Marion Eagles vs. Brethren Bobcats
Marion has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Brethren Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, everything went Marion's way against the Sabers as the Eagles made off with a 60-36 victory.
Meanwhile, Brethren can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They blew past Crossroads Charter Academy, posting a 65-19 victory at home. The victory was nothing new for Brethren as they're now sitting on three straight.
Marion's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10. As for Brethren, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Marion lost to the Bobcats on the road by a decisive 54-35 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Marion avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
