Bear River let Pine View stack four runs on them in the first inning on Thursday but luckily Bear River prevailed anyway. The Bears narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Panthers 6-5. That's more bragging rights for the Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Dallen Rice, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Boston White, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Bear River has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Bear River will take on Mater Academy East Las Vegas in a tournament on Friday. As for Pine View, they have already played their next contest, a 1-0 victory against Wasatch on the 5th.
