Basketball Recap: Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy Comes Up Short

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 69-41 loss at the hands of the Rock County Christian Eagles. The Guardians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-22.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rock County Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gideon Ukwuorji, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Ukwuorji's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tony Thompson, who dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 11 boards, and ten blocks.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Rock County Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hiawatha at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Rock County Christian also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Rockford FIRE HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
