Softball Recap: Saluda Tigers vs. Westwood Redhawks
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Saluda). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Westwood Redhawks a 16-0 shutout on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Kylee McGlohorn looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March.
At the plate, Saluda got a massive performance out of Nyla Jordan, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Jordan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Campbell, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Saluda always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
