Volleyball Recap: Palisades Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Palisades can now relate to. They fell just short of the East Mecklenburg Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in April.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Palisades sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 20-25, 25-21, 19-25, 15-11.

East Mecklenburg can attribute much of their success to Adalberto Gomez, who had 12 digs and two aces. Gomez has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last five times he's played.

Palisades moved to 10-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for East Mecklenburg, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

As of now, neither Palisades nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
