Preview: Longmeadow Lancers vs. Central Golden Eagles
Longmeadow is 0-10 against Central since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Longmeadow Lancers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Central Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On January 5th, Longmeadow was fully in charge, breezing past Chicopee 65-31 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Longmeadow.
In what's become a running theme this season, Central gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They really took it to West Springfield for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-27 win at home. The victory was nothing new for Central as they're now sitting on three straight.
Angalece Quinones continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 5 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jai-lyn Garvin-martin, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Longmeadow's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Longmeadow took a serious blow against Central in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 57-28. Thankfully for Longmeadow, Julie Bahati (who dropped a triple-double on 24 points, 21 rebounds, and ten blocks) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
