Preview: Crismon Rattlers vs. Coolidge Bears
The Crismon Rattlers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Coolidge Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Crismon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Coolidge is ranked 92nd).
Last Monday, Crismon came up short against San Tan Foothills and fell 52-40.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Andrew LeMaster, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Mason Brown, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Coolidge gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They blew past San Tan Foothills, posting a 67-38 victory on the road. The win was nothing new for Coolidge as they're now sitting on three straight.
Coolidge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tory Gholston, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and four steals. Gholston hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'kwan Jordan, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Crismon has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Coolidge, their win bumped their record up to 17-5.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Crismon have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Coolidge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 36.2 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
