Softball Recap: Garland Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Garland never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against North Garland on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the Raiders. The result was nothing new for the Owls, who have now won nine matches by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Natalie Arent made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Garland got a massive performance out of Karmen Sanders, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI Sanders has posted since back in March. Sinijay Maxey was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Garland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Garland only posted a batting average of .000.

Garland's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for North Garland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-23.

Coming up, Garland will face off against Forney at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Jackrabbits will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Owls surely won't give up without a fight. North Garland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
