Softball Recap: Belleville Has No Trouble Against Wisconsin Heights

The matchup between Belleville and Wisconsin Heights on Tuesday hardly resembled the 4-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Wildcats came out on top against the Vanguards by a score of 13-9. The matchup marked the Wildcats' most dominant win of the season.

Bryn Prochaska was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Prochaska was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nora Christensen, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Ava Benash was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Belleville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wisconsin Heights only managed six hits.

Belleville's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-10. As for Wisconsin Heights, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belleville will face off against Lakeside Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wisconsin Heights, they will take on Lodi at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
