Baseball Recap: Jackson Schuiteman Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Arlington

While Douglas County West's win against Arlington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Falcon's pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 1-0 shutout on Friday. The Falcon haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Arlington's batters probably weren't too happy with Luke Thimmesch, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up three walks).

At the plate, Douglas County West's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Schuiteman, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases. Schuiteman is becoming a predictor of the Falcon's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 4-1 (and 2-7 when he doesn't).

Douglas County West's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Arlington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
