Basketball Game Preview: Ida Baker Bulldogs vs. Cape Coral Seahawks

The Ida Baker Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Cape Coral Seahawks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ida Baker is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Ida Baker came up short against Estero and fell 60-47. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 497th, while the Wildcats are ranked 199th).

Meanwhile, Cape Coral beat Dunbar 37-29 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Seahawks.

Cape Coral pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.7 points per game. As for Ida Baker, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Ida Baker couldn't quite finish off Cape Coral when the teams last played back in December of 2024 and fell 46-43. Can Ida Baker avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
