Basketball Recap: Cary Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Cary won the last time they faced Apex and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cary Imps walked away with a 33-22 win over the Apex Cougars. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Imps as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Cary was led to victory by Kyndall Brewington and Riley Garner. Brewington almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds, while Garner posted nine points. Brewington is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played.

Despite the defeat, Apex saw an underclassman step up: freshman Elizabeth Austin had three points and nine boards.

Cary's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9. As for Apex, they dropped their record down to 2-15 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Cary has already played their next matchup, a 53-43 defeat against Green Level on the 31st. As for Apex, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-46 victory against Middle Creek on the 29th.
