Basketball Game Preview: Quincy Orioles vs. Climax-Scotts Panthers

The Quincy Orioles will face off against the Climax-Scotts Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Quincy has four straight victories, Climax-Scotts has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

If Quincy beats Climax-Scotts with 58 points on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Quincy snuck past Maple Valley with a 58-52 win on Friday.

Quincy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Corey Turner, who posted 14 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Those 14 points gave Turner a new career-high. Ryan Kempter was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Climax-Scotts challenged Gobles on Monday. Climax-Scotts fell 54-44 to Gobles.

Quincy pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 36.7% in those games and 23.3% outside of them. As for Climax-Scotts, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
