Basketball Recap: Somerset Bulldogs vs. Carrizo Springs Wildcats
Somerset was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Carrizo Springs Wildcats. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-42 back in December of 2024.
Carrizo Springs found their leader in sophomore Melanie Davila, who went 13 of 21 on her way to 32 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davila has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ysella Hinojosa, who posted four points along with 12 rebounds and five assists.
Somerset's loss dropped their record down to 7-22. As for Carrizo Springs, their win bumped their record up to 17-10.
Somerset will head out to face off against Pleasanton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Carrizo Springs, they will face off against Pearsall at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Carrizo Springs is facing Pearsall at the right time seeing as Pearsall is stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
