Baseball Recap: Canton Comes Up Short

Canton lost against South Williamsport back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Warriors lost 13-6 to the Mountaineers. The Warriors' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Ben Fitch was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Aaden Dowling also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Canton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for South Williamsport, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canton will host Troy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for South Williamsport, they will welcome Wellsboro at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
