Baseball Game Preview: Truckee Wolverines vs. Sparks Railroaders

Truckee is a perfect 10-0 against Sparks since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Truckee will be playing at home against Sparks at 1:00 p.m. Truckee will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Last Saturday, Truckee got the win against Sparks by a conclusive 15-1. Considering the Wolverines have won four contests by more than ten runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Logan Arata was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Truckee is undefeated when Arata posts three or more RBI, but 2-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Wicks, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Truckee hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sparks struck out eight times.

Truckee pushed their record up to 5-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Sparks, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.

Sparks' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Truckee hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320.
