Mediapolis came tearing into Friday's contest with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Central Lee Hawks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-0 on June 5th.

Mediapolis pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Central Lee, their loss ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mediapolis will face off against Pekin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Lee, they will welcome West Burlington at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
