St. Thomas Aquinas had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Doral Academy Firebirds by a score of 8-4 on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Raiders sure are getting used to it with their 11th in a row.

AJ Lopez looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nico Sabatino was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Lopez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

St. Thomas Aquinas pushed their record up to 26-5-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Doral Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 26-7-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: St. Thomas Aquinas beat the Firebirds by a score of 8-4 later that day.
