Basketball Recap: Legacy Charter Beats Trinity Prep for Their Fifth Straight Win

Legacy Charter had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 77-60 victory over the Trinity Prep Saints. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Saints are ranked 539th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Legacy Charter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trevor Miller, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. Miller's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Khori Polarchy was another key player, going 8 of 13 en route to 22 points.

Legacy Charter was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trinity Prep only racked up 12 assists.

Trinity Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being David Hull, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Hull has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Garland Ingram III, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 14 points.

Legacy Charter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.6 points per game. As for Trinity Prep, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16.

Legacy Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 79-40 victory against First Academy on the 31st. Trinity Prep has also already played their next game, a 51-42 win against Lake Mary Prep on the 31st.
