Atascadero extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Cara Howes. The Greyhounds came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Santa Ynez Pirates for which the team can thank Howes, who had nine digs and six aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Atascadero had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 19-25, 25-15, 26-24, 15-9.

Atascadero's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Santa Ynez, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.

Atascadero wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Kerman on the 12th. As for Santa Ynez, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Sierra Pacific on the 12th.
