Baseball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

Franklin and Girard squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Franklin had to settle for second. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-1 to the Yellowjackets, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Knights' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Drew Kockler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Girard, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-6.

Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Girard, they will face off against Titusville at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
