Football Recap: Jamestown Eagles vs. Smithfield Packers
Jamestown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 7-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Smithfield Packers. That makes it the first time this season the Eagles have let down their home crowd.
Ben Hanchett threw for 39 yards on seven of 21 attempts.
Mortima Goodridge Jr was his top target, picking up 30 receiving yards.
Jamestown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Smithfield, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Jamestown will challenge York at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Smithfield, they will face off against Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lafayette knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Smithfield likes a good challenge.
