Baseball Recap: Erskine Academy Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Nokomis, Erskine Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Gardiner Tigers 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Tigers last Monday, they had to take a 4-2 loss.

Erskine Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sorrel Vinci, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Those stolen bases were Vinci's first of the season. Another was Jacob Lavallee, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Erskine Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Gardiner, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Erskine Academy will challenge Morse at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Shipbuilders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gardiner, they will face off against Medomak Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
