Soccer Recap: Lake Zurich Takes a Loss

Lake Zurich and Barrington squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Lake Zurich had to settle for second. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Fillies/Broncos who were credited with the win. The Barrington Fillies/Broncos got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Lake Zurich Bears' two. While losing is never fun, Lake Zurich can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Barrington are ranked 34th).

Lake Zurich has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10-2 record this season. As for Barrington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4-4.

Lake Zurich does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Barrington, they will take on Zion-Benton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
