Softball Recap: Fort Bend Bush's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Fort Bend Bush's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Fort Bend Elkins Knights with a sharp 17-6 victory. Considering the Broncos have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kiersten Kyle was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Kalee Willis was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing five bases while going 3-for-4. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Victoria Aldridge, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Fort Bend Bush was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They are 7-1-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Fort Bend Bush's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-7-1. As for Fort Bend Elkins, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Fort Bend Bush will square off against Fort Bend Travis at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Bend Elkins, they will take on Fort Bend Dulles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
