Basketball Recap: Rowann Law and Macy Martynowski Secure Win for Glenwood

Glenwood had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They strolled past the Rochester Rockets with points to spare, taking the game 47-30. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Rockets are ranked 312th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Glenwood was led to victory by Macy Martynowski and Rowann Law. Martynowski went 6 of 12 on her way to 18 points, while Law posted ten points along with seven steals and six rebounds. What's more, Martynowski also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alexis Neumann, who earned ten points and six boards.

Several Rockets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bella Harness, who scored four points. Alaina Stock was another key player, putting up nine points.

Glenwood is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Rochester, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-18.

Glenwood will welcome Triad at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rochester, they are taking a road trip to take on Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
