Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Baker

Baker extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 7-7. They blew past the Laurel Hill Hoboes 13-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-2 back in March.

Abigail Griffin made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Griffin was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adahline Burks, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzie Ward, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Baker kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Laurel Hill only managed three.

As for Laurel Hill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9. The contest marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Laurel Hill's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savannah Riley, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Baker didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-0 defeat against Northview on the 6th. As for Laurel Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 17-7 loss against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy on the 6th.
