Baseball Recap: Open Door Christian's Losing Streak Snapped at Nine Games

Open Door Christian can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Valley Forge 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Open Door Christian has posted since April 25, 2024.

Ian Reed was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Nikkos Poulos, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Open Door Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Valley Forge, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Looking ahead, Open Door Christian will head out on the road to square off against Danbury at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lakers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.14 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Valley Forge, they will take on Rocky River at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
