Basketball Recap: Dakota Comes Up Short

Dakota was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 53-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Regina. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while Regina are ranked 119th).

When it comes to explaining why Dakota lost, don't look at Meadow Cameron. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Cameron a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Garavaglia, who posted ten points and three steals.

Dakota's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Regina, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-9.

Dakota has already played their next game, a 49-45 loss against Rochester on the 27th. Regina has also already played their next contest (against Groves), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
