Volleyball Recap: Russell Takes a Loss

On Monday, the Russell Broncos came up short against the Holcomb Longhorns and fell 2-0.

Russell was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-21.

Jaden Ney paced Russell's offense, picking up ten kills. Ney got some help from Annika Nichols and her 15 assists. Ney was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Holcomb was led to victory by Delilah Galliart and Emmie Ruiz. Galliart had 13 digs, while Ruiz had seven digs.

Russell's loss dropped their record down to 17-21. As for Holcomb, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 28-10.

Russell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Holcomb, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Lakin on the 26th.
