Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Skates Past Severance with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Roosevelt). They took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging an 86-54 win over the Severance Silver Knights. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 52-30.

Leading Roosevelt to victory were Kyla Hollier and Ryanne Bahnsen-Price. Hollier went 13 of 17 en route to 34 points and three steals, while Bahnsen-Price went 10 for 12 on her way to 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Terry, who posted seven points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Roosevelt was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Severance only racked up ten assists.

When it comes to explaining why Severance lost, don't look at Hannah Overton. Despite the final result, she went 5 for 8 on her way to 14 points. That's the most points Overton has posted since back in January of 2024. Nautia Barber was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Roosevelt's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.3 points. As for Severance, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Roosevelt has already played their next contest, a 65-44 loss against Mullen on the 16th. As for Severance, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-29 win against Wellington on the 17th.
