Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hoover). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 51-7 win over the Tuscaloosa County Wildcats. Given the Buccaneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Wildcats are ranked 137th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hoover got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaleb Freeman out in front who threw for 190 yards and one touchdown while completing 88.9% of his passes. Freeman's passing game has become a key predictor of the Buccaneers' success: the team is 4-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Hunter Purdue did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 86 receiving yards.

The win (which was Hoover's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-3. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.0 points over those games. As for Tuscaloosa County, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-7.
