Baseball Recap: Mount Airy Comes Up Short

Mount Airy was the 10-0 winner over Starmount when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Mount Airy took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Starmount on Tuesday. Granite Bears fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Rams since on Tuesday.

Mount Airy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Starmount, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Airy will square off against East Surry at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Starmount, they will challenge Mount Airy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
