Basketball Recap: Tongue River Comes Up Short

Tongue River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 57-40 to the Big Horn Rams. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Leading Big Horn to victory were Avon Barney and Caleb Adsit. Barney went 5 for 9 on his way to 10 points and three steals, while Adsit posted eight points and nine boards. Adsit has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kolby Butler, who put up nine points.

Tongue River's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Big Horn, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Tongue River has already played their next game (against Newcastle), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Big Horn will look to defend their home court on January 24th against Moorcroft at 4:30 p.m. Big Horn knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Moorcroft likes a good challenge.
