Volleyball Recap: Sanderson Starts Season with Win Against Knightdale

Sanderson gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They came out on top against the Knightdale Knights by a score of 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Spartans also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Sanderson was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 21-25, 25-14, 25-14.

Kayla McLaughlin paced Sanderson's offense, picking up nine kills. McLaughlin were helped by Sydney Worrell and Ainsley Botts, who contributed 11 assists each. McLaughlin was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Sanderson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Wakefield on the 13th. As for Knightdale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against J.F. Webb on the 13th.
