Basketball Recap: Goleman Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Goleman came tearing into Monday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 48-43 W over the Nova Titans. For the Gators, this counts as revenge for the 93-45 win the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2017.

Leading Goleman to victory were Franki Sosa and Jaylon Hall. Sosa dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds, while Hall posted 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals. The contest was Sosa's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Frudrias Porter, who had nine points and six rebounds.

Goleman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Goleman has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Nova, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goleman won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hialeah-Miami Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Goleman is facing Hialeah-Miami Lakes at the right time seeing as Hialeah-Miami Lakes is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Nova, they will head out on the road to face off against Everglades at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
