Basketball Recap: Four Straight Road Wins for Atchison

Atchison won the last time they faced Tonganoxie and things went their way on Friday too. The Atchison Phoenix took down the Tonganoxie Chieftains 73-57. Given the Phoenix's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Chieftains are ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Atchison's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33 points. As for Tonganoxie, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-1.

Atchison will face off against Highland Park on Tuesday. Highland Park will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Atchison surely won't give up without a fight. Tonganoxie has already played their next matchup, a 76-49 loss against Bonner Springs on the 25th.
