Baseball Game Preview: Jenison Wildcats vs. Grand Haven Buccaneers

Jenison is on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Grand Haven is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Wildcats will host the Buccaneers at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Grand Haven's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Jenison hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Wildcats' pitchers stepped up to hand Muskegon a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grand Haven). They put the hurt on East Kentwood with a sharp 10-0 victory on Thursday. The Buccaneers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 14, 2025 (when they won 16-1).

Jenison's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Grand Haven, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Everything went Jenison's way against Grand Haven when the teams last played back in March of 2025, as Jenison made off with a 12-5 victory. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Buccaneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
