Baseball Game Preview: Johnsburg Skyhawks vs. Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes

Johnsburg hasn't had much luck against Marian Central Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Johnsburg will be playing in front of their home fans against Marian Central Catholic at 6:30 p.m. Johnsburg's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Marian Central Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Johnsburg is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Alden-Hebron on Monday as Johnsburg made off with a 19-1 victory. The Skyhawks not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11, 2024.

Nate Frost made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Frost was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Dom Vallone was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those runs were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Mesce, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Marian Central Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Harlem, falling 15-0. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Hurricanes' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Marian Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Johnsburg, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
