Basketball Recap: New Site Skates Past Red Bay with Ease

New Site won the last time they faced Red Bay and things went their way on Thursday too. The New Site Royals claimed a resounding 68-31 victory over the Red Bay Tigers. The Royals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Site to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chloe Chism, who posted 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Chism has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Johna Lindley was another key player, putting up nine points and five steals.

New Site smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.

New Site is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Red Bay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-13.

New Site will challenge East Union at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Union will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something New Site surely won't give up without a fight. As for Red Bay, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 39-30 loss against Lamar County on the 1st.
