Baseball Recap: Louisa-Muscatine Comes Up Short

The matchup between Louisa-Muscatine and New London on Friday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Falcons took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Louisa-Muscatine and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for New London, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Louisa-Muscatine will head out to square off against Mediapolis at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight. As for New London, they will take on Pekin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
