Tulare Union and Tulare Western are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Tribe will venture away from home to square off against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Tulare Union is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Tulare Union's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Dinuba 1-0. That's two games straight that the Tribe have won by just one run.

Not much got past Jiannah Freitas, who gave up just a hit and racked up six Ks to keep Dinuba off the board.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tulare Western, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They came out on top against Lemoore by a score of 7-2 on Wednesday.

Ky Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tulare Western got a big performance out of Alivea Salcedo, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Meiah Ledesma was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Tulare Western's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Tulare Union, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.
