Softball Recap: Herriman Snags 11th Victory in Last 13 Games

With a playoff win on the line, Herriman rose to the challenge on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Syracuse Titans. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

Herriman got a great performance from Sierra Prescott as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Prescott has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on McKenzie Quintero, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Maxfield, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Herriman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Herriman has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Syracuse, their loss dropped their record down to 15-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Herriman beat the Titans by a score of 13-1 on Friday.
