Preview: Bountiful RedHawks vs. Box Elder Bees
The Bountiful RedHawks will head out on the road to face off against the Box Elder Bees at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, Bountiful never let their opponents score. They blew past Northridge 10-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Bountiful.
Bountiful let Athena Tongaonevai and Claire Yates loose on the outfield. Tongaonevai went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI, while Yates scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Melissa Turpin, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Box Elder waltzed into their match on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Falcons as they made off with a 12-0 win.
Kennadie Blackmer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Blackmer was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Justy Pritchard was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and a stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kailee Hall, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
