            Softball Recap: Milford Spartans vs. Souhegan Sabers        
        
		
        
        
            Milford dropped their record down to 5-2 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They took  a  12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Souhegan Sabers. The pitching woes were  uncharacteristic for the Spartans, who until this  game were averaging 3.86  runs allowed.
  Arabelle Danforth was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-4 with three  stolen bases and two  runs.  Nadia Dutton also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
Souhegan's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
On Souhegan's side,  Molly Lyons spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and five unearned) runs on two hits.
 At the plate,  Eva York was  incredible,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and five  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Alanah Dutremble, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Milford is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Pelham  at 4:00  p.m.  on May 5. Meanwhile, Souhegan will  take on  rival Coe-Brown Academy  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday.
